Part of what makes a brand truly shine on Instagram is when they interact with their followers. Similar to other social media channels, people love when brands like or comment on their posts or share them. Interacting with your followers is also a great way to ensure you’re developing a relationship with them, which will in turn help turn them into customers.

Peak Times

There are over 300 million active users on Instagram. Getting their attention can be difficult! An important aspect of content development is the timing of your posts. There are two different ways to look at this – the peak time at which people post content and the peak time for engagement. The hour of the day which sees the most posts (in the U.S., that is) is between 2:00 and 3:00pm. This could be due, in part, to the fact that this is around the time younger users are getting out of school, college students are getting out of class, or any number of things. However, from an engagement standpoint, most engagement (likes, comments, shares) happens more around the 9:00pm hour. So if you’re a business, you’d be smart to consider scheduling your posts to go out later in the day so they aren’t overlooked.
